To this end, we only collect, process and store data on visitors to our website that is essential for the proper functioning of our website and all attendant communications. The processing of your personal data will always comply with the applicable data protection legislation and will be done so solely for the purposes for which you provided this information.

We kindly request that you take time to read through the following conditions in order to familiarise yourself fully with our views and practices in relation to the processing of your personal data, and with our use of cookies.

The present privacy policy is based on the Swiss Data Protection Act (DPA) and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Information we may collect from you/contact via our website

We may collect and process the following information about you:

  • information that you provide by filling out forms on our website, by subscribing to our newsletter or registering for an event;
  • non-personal data in connection with your use of our website such as your IP address, browser type, and the date and time of your visit;
  • Should you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

How we may use the data we collect
In principle, users do not have to provide personal information in order to access the Hope Now website.

Non-personal user data such as your IP address, browser type, and the date and time of the visit contain no information that allows us to identify you. We store and evaluate this data in a non-personally identifiable way.

We may use this non-personal data:

  • to ensure that the content of our website is presented in the most effective manner for you and your device (computer, smartphone or tablet);
  • to gain insights into visitor traffic and behaviour for the purposes of analysing and improving our website.

Any personal data you share with us is collected and processed in strict compliance with the applicable laws and regulations, and in principle only with your explicit consent.

We will then send you a verification email asking you to confirm your decision by clicking on the link provided therein. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time; every newsletter features an unsubscribe link.

Disclosure of data
Your personal data will be neither sold nor disclosed to third parties.

Cookies
This website uses cookies. These are small text files that are placed on the user’s terminal device (PC, smartphone etc.) and store information that is specific to the given device. They help to improve user experience (e.g. saving log-in data) and make it possible to collect and analyse statistical data on how our website is used, which in turn helps us to further improve visitors’ browsing experience.

Most browsers allow users to restrict or block cookies from being stored on their devices. However, this may affect your overall user experience when visiting our site.

Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies. These are text files placed on your computer that make it possible to analyse how you are using our website (including your IP address). The information captured by the cookie on your use of our website is normally sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there. We draw your attention to the fact that on our website Google Analytics has been extended to ensure an anonymized record of IP addresses. At our request, your IP address is therefore recorded by Google solely in shortened form, which ensures anonymization and thus does not allow inferences to be made to your identity. In the event that the IP-anonymize function is activated on our website, within the member states of the European Union or other states that are party to the European Economic Areas (EEA) Agreement, your IP address will first be shortened by Google. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google will make use of said information to evaluate your use of our website, to prepare reports on website activities for us and to provide us with further website-related and internet-related services. Google will not associate the IP address collected from your browser by Google Analytics with any other data held by Google. Any transfer of this data to a third party by Google is made solely on the basis of statutory regulations or as part of a contract data processing agreement. On no account will Google associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. By using our website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from acquiring and processing the data collected by the cookie and related to your use of our website (incl. your IP address) by downloading and installing the requisite browser plug-in.

Facebook Pixel
Our website contains plug-ins from the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. When you visit our site, the Facebook plug-in creates a direct link between your browser and Facebook servers. This means that Facebook receives a notification that you visited our site via your IP address, which in turn allows the social network to connect your visit to your Facebook account. Information received in this way can be used by us for the display of Facebook ads or for tracking functionalities. Please note that as the site provider we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted and how Facebook uses it. Please consult the Facebook privacy statement for more information.
